BioTherapeutics’ products include plasma-based intravenous immunoglobulins (IGIV) therapies used to treat primary and secondary immunodeficiency (PI and SI) disorders. In addition, Baxter produces treatments for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), severe congenital Protein C deficiency, and albumin. These products are used as plasma-volume replacement therapy for the treatment of hypovolemia and provide adequate fluid volume and pressure for critically ill patients. BioTherapeutics also offers comprehensive customer/patient programs and services, as well as plasma collection capabilities, and manufactures safe and effective products.
BioTherapeutics Research and Development pipeline is investigating use for IGIV therapies in immunology and neurological disorders [Alzheimer's disease and multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN)]. Also being investigated are new delivery forms such as subcutaneous administration.
